Golden Grass

Chief Designer for the Golden Grass Project in Kendrapara, Odisha, leading on-ground design and product development for Ekibeki. @ekibeki_india

Working closely with master artisans, the project explored new product opportunities while building local capacity. Master artisans were trained to mentor groups of 30 women artisans over a four-month period, creating a sustainable knowledge-sharing model.

Together, we developed a collection of jewellery, christmas hangings, and torans that combined traditional golden grass craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Play and Learn

Throughout human history, music has existed in both formal and informal forms as an expression of harmony, rhythm, and sound.

This project explores the idea of a playful sound-making object that is free from the cultural expectations often associated with musical instruments. Designed as a tool for creative engagement, its purpose is to encourage exploration, play, and stress relief through interaction and sound.

Amplus

Am+ (Amplus) is a stackable stool designed for everyday use. Featuring a spacious and comfortable seat, it was inspired by the impromptu visits from relatives and neighbours that often become hours of conversation.

The stool is lightweight, easy to stack, and simple to store when not in use. Developed over four weeks in 2019, this project was my first introduction to furniture design.
