Kanchi Choithani is a craft researcher, designer, and visual storyteller from India, currently based out of Delhi. Her practice lies at the intersection of craft documentation, material culture, and community-led design, with a focus on engaging with artisan communities across India. Trained as a designer, her work is informed by long-term field research, collaboration, and an interest in everyday objects as carriers of memory, and lived histories.

Kanchi's artistic practice explores how traditional knowledge systems offer alternative ways of understanding identity and sustainability. She works across photography, text, and material research to document practices that are often overlooked within dominant cultural and institutional frameworks. Rather than treating craft as a static tradition, her work foregrounds it as a living, adaptive practice shaped by people, place, and changing socio-economic realities.

Through her work, Kanchi seeks to create spaces for quieter stories to be seen, remembered, and valued within contemporary cultural discourse.
